Multi-scenario Application Of Spo2 Sensor in Medical Field

A blood oxygen sensor, or blood oxygen saturation probe, is a device used to measure the oxygen content in human blood. It is based on the principle of measuring optical methods, using light of a specific wavelength to penetrate the skin, enter the blood in the blood vessels, and then measure the absorption and reflection of the light in the blood. Specifically, the blood oxygen probe has a built-in light emitting diode (LED) and a photosensitive element (such as a photodiode). The LED emits 660 nm red light and 900-940 nm infrared light, which penetrate the skin and enter the blood. In the blood, red light is absorbed by the oxygen in hemoglobin, while infrared light is relatively less affected by oxygen. Therefore, by measuring the changes in the intensity of the two reflected lights, the oxygen content in the blood, that is, the blood oxygen saturation, can be calculated.

As an important medical device, Spo2 sensor plays a key role in multiple medical scenarios and provides reliable support for patients' health monitoring. Pray- Medical provides a variety of disposable and reusable blood oxygen sensor products, which are compatible with different models of blood oxygen meters and monitors of major brands, accurately and efficiently transmitting patients' vital signs.

Operating room - During the operation, the patient's physiological condition may change due to a variety of factors such as the use of anesthetic drugs, the stress response of the operation itself, and underlying diseases, thus affecting the stability of blood oxygen saturation. The blood oxygen probe is usually placed in the part of the patient with good blood circulation, that is, the fingertips or earlobes. By continuously monitoring the blood oxygen saturation readings, doctors can promptly detect blood oxygen saturation that is lower or higher than normal levels and quickly take countermeasures, such as adjusting the anesthesia dose and surgical operation, to ensure the safety and smooth progress of the operation.

Intensive Care Unit - The condition of ICU patients is usually more serious and unstable. The blood oxygen probe can monitor the patient's blood oxygen status and pulse rate in real time 24 hours a day. Once the blood oxygen saturation or pulse rate is abnormal, the alarm system will sound immediately, reminding medical staff that the patient's condition has changed significantly, saving the patient's life in time, and adjusting the treatment plan if necessary. Disposable blood oxygen probes perform well in the high-risk environment of the ICU. They can not only effectively prevent cross-infection and protect patients with weak immunity from serious infection complications, but also are very convenient to use. They do not need to be strictly cleaned and disinfected in advance, saving medical staff time and hospital resources.

General wards - For patients with chronic diseases such as respiratory diseases and cardiovascular diseases, Spo2 sensor can help medical staff to detect subtle changes in their condition in a timely manner, thereby adjusting treatment plans and improving treatment effects. When selecting monitoring sites, it is necessary to consider the patient's specific conditions, such as the accessibility of blood vessels and patient comfort, so that the patient feels comfortable while ensuring the accuracy of the measurement results.

In short, Spo2 probes play an indispensable role in multiple scenarios such as operating rooms, intensive care units, and general wards. It provides accurate monitoring data for medical staff and provides strong protection for the health and safety of patients. Choosing a high-quality blood oxygen probe means choosing more accurate and timely health monitoring, making our lives more secure and healthy
